Perigon Group in Brisbane is seeking an experienced commercial finance professional for a 6-month contract. The role combines FP&A, business partnering, reporting and systems improvement, reporting to the CFO and collaborating with operational stakeholders.

You will develop financial models, budgets and forecasts, and provide meaningful insights to support business decisions. Strong Power BI and ERP data experience is required; a background in complex operations is preferred.

Our client is an established organisation operating in a complex, project driven environment. With a strong operational focus, the business is seeking an experienced commercial finance professional to join the team on an initial 6 month contract.

Working closely with the CFO, this opportunity will suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail, understanding how a business operates and identifying opportunities to improve financial visibility, reporting and processes.

The Role This is a broad and hands on commercial finance position combining financial planning and analysis, business partnering, reporting and systems improvement.

You will work closely with the CFO and operational stakeholders to improve the quality of financial information and provide meaningful insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities will include:

• Developing and improving financial models, budgets, forecasts and management reporting
• Partnering with operational stakeholders to understand business performance, costs and commercial drivers
• Reviewing existing reporting processes and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Utilising Power BI and Excel to improve financial analysis and reporting capabilities
• Working with large ERP systems to improve data quality, reporting and financial processes
• Supporting cost analysis, operational performance reporting and financial planning
• Assisting with finance transformation, systems improvement and other commercial projects

About You

You will be an experienced commercial finance professional with a strong background in FP&A, financial modelling and operational business partnering.

Ideally, you will bring experience from manufacturing, mining, resources, construction, logistics or another complex operational environment.

You will have:

• CA or CPA qualification
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and analytical skills
• Experience working with large ERP systems and complex financial dataStrong Excel skills and practical experience with Power BI
• Demonstrated experience improving reporting, systems or financial processes
• The ability to engage confidently with senior leaders and operational stakeholders
• A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge existing processes and drive improvements

Importantly, you will be someone who enjoys working at both a strategic and detailed level. You will be comfortable working autonomously, getting into the numbers and delivering practical improvements.

The Opportunity

This is an initial 6 month contract based in Brisbane's eastern suburbs, working onsite five days per week.
