Job summary

New Aim Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Commercial Logistics Lead to own the economics of delivering products to customers. You will determine postage charges, carrier payments, and the strategy linking them, working with logistics and data teams to turn numbers into actionable plans.

Reporting to the CEO, you will build a cost-to-serve model, design carrier strategies, and drive bottom-line improvements across multiple sales channels. This role values analytical rigor and ecommerce experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Actuarial Studies, Data Science, Engineering, Physics) or Commerce/Business with Finance/Economics major.
• 4+ years in strategy consulting, commercial analysis, pricing or a similar analytical role.
• Hands-on experience with logistics or carrier costs (parcel pricing, rate cards, freight cost analysis).
• A sharp mind for numbers: see how figures connect and spot what doesn't add up.
• Business ownership mindset: treat cost and margin like it's your own money.
• Ability to influence and align people you don't manage.
• eCommerce experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Own postage P&L end to end: pricing, carrier costs, and margin across 30+ channels.
• Build and maintain a cost-to-serve model by order size, weight, zone, carrier and channel.
• Design carrier mix and allocation rules for cost-effective delivery.
• Develop business cases for tendering and rate reviews with clear targets.
• Review postage pricing and free-delivery thresholds to reflect true cost to serve.
• Track KPIs: blended cost per order, charge-to-cost gap, carrier mix, surcharges.
• Partner with data team to build dashboards and automated insights.
• Present recommendations to CEO and track savings delivered.
