Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Metal Machining
• Minimum 3 years of relevant post-trade machining experience
• Demonstrated hands-on CNC machining experience
• Experience with CNC lathes and machining centres
• Okuma machining experience is highly desirable
• One-Touch programming experience is advantageous
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings
• Ability to demonstrate genuine and verifiable machining experience
• Forklift LF class licence is preferred
• Australian Driver’s Licence is preferred
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment medical screening
• Ability to successfully complete drug and alcohol screening

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machining centres and CNC lathes
• Program CNC machinery using appropriate machining methods
• Operate Okuma or equivalent CNC equipment
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Select appropriate materials, tooling and machining processes
• Operate manual lathes and other conventional machining equipment
• Produce accurate components to required tolerances
• Inspect completed work and maintain quality standards
• Identify and resolve machining and equipment issues
• Maintain machinery and equipment in safe working condition
• Follow safety, quality and production procedures
• Work collaboratively to meet production requirements and deadlines
