Senior CNC Machinist - Evening Shift & Prototyping

Job summary

A long-established Sydney manufacturer that works to tight tolerances needs experienced CNC Machinists to strengthen its evening shift, with multiple positions to fill. You will set up, program and run CNC equipment across production batches and prototypes for clients in construction, defence, infrastructure, manufacturing and the oil and gas sector.

The role emphasises confidence at the machine (about 70% of the work) and reading engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a machinist with hands-on CNC programming and setup.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with CAM software and multiple CNC machines.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes and a sliding head lathe.
• Prepare tools, work holdings and jobs for the different machining centres, and design work holdings for prototype and production runs.
• Inspect and measure manufactured parts at the final stage.
• Deliver production work mixed with prototype runs for manufacturing, oil and gas, construction, defence and infrastructure customers.
