Job summary

NTT is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Specialist (Zscaler SME) to lead a government agency Zero Trust uplift. This predominantly remote role includes occasional Canberra planning workshops and knowledge transfer activities.

You will act as the subject matter expert for Zscaler, delivering security architecture, automation, and runbook development across a mature Zscaler environment to uplift internal capabilities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience implementing and supporting Zscaler solutions.
• Experience building and operating Zero Trust architectures.
• Proven ability to produce technical documentation and runbooks.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform or similar) and Policy as Code.

Are you a Zscaler expert looking to play a key role in a large-scale Zero Trust transformation?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Security Specialist (Zscaler SME) to join a high-profile Federal Government program. This opportunity will see you provide technical leadership, security expertise, and hands‑on engineering support across a mature Zscaler environment while helping uplift internal capability and drive cloud security best practices.

This is a predominantly remote engagement with occasional attendance in Canberra for planning workshops, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge transfer activities.

The Opportunity

As the Senior Cloud Security Specialist, you will act as the organisation's subject matter expert for Zscaler technologies, supporting the enhancement, optimisation, and ongoing maturity of their Zero Trust security posture.

You will work closely with Cloud, Network, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security teams to improve platform resilience, automate operational processes, strengthen monitoring capabilities, and deliver sustainable capability uplift across government teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review platform resilience, disaster recovery, and security controls.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Policy as Code (PaC) capabilities.
• Introduce automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual administration.
• Produce technical documentation, operational runbooks, and support procedures.
• Mentor and coach internal technical teams through structured knowledge transfer programs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks, recommend improvements, and support strategic security outcomes.
• Assist with troubleshooting, incident response, and operational improvement initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Extensive experience implementing and supporting Zscaler solutions

Strong expertise across:

• Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA)
• Zscaler Private Access (ZPA)
• Zscaler Cloud Connector
• Zero Trust Security Architectures

Experience with:

• Cloud security engineering
• Security monitoring and observability
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
• Policy as Code
• Automation and scripting

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Proven experience creating technical documentation and operational runbooks

Demonstrated mentoring, coaching, and knowledge transfer experience

Highly regarded:

• Zscaler certifications
• Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
• SIEM and security monitoring tools
• Enterprise networking and security technologies
