Job summary

You’ll shape standards, mentor engineers, and lead incident responses while embedding zero‑trust security and robust disaster recovery into the delivery lifecycle. Hybrid work in Australia.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on cloud engineering across at least two major providers.
• Strong CI/CD templating and deployment practices (Github Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Strong Azure expertise; Azure Expert Certification desirable.
• Experience in fintech/financial services environment preferred.
• Container and orchestration tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
• SRE practices: SLOs, error budgets, chaos engineering, on‑call.
• Observability: Datadog, Grafana/Prometheus for metrics/logs/traces.
• Networking fundamentals: VPNs, DNS, CDN, load balancing.
• Infrastructure-as-code: Pulumi and GitOps at scale.
• Security foundations: zero-trust, IAM, secrets, SIEM, vuln scanning.
• Cross-discipline knowledge across development and operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve multi-cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Maintain platform reliability, scaling, automation and optimization.
• Champion IaC practices with Pulumi to manage resources and deployments.
• Build internal developer platform to accelerate ship rate and confidence.
• Define and own SLOs, CI/CD standards, environments, containerisation & observability.
• Automate operational tasks with modern SRE tools to speed delivery.
• Monitor, detect and address system issues with auto-troubleshooting strategies.
• Influence architectural decisions, write RFCs, mentor engineers.
• Partner with Head of Technology on roadmap and strategy.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity on DR, perform DR drills.
• Lead incident response and blameless post-mortems; reduce toil via automation.
• Embed security across SDLC and drive zero-trust architecture.
• Manage external vendor relationships and platform subscriptions.
