Job summary

Cleared is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the National Security and Defence Professional Services team in Canberra. You will design, implement and manage complex AWS solutions that meet customer requirements and mission objectives; collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define migration strategies, delivering secure and scalable cloud architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Software Engineering or related discipline.
• AWS Professional level certification (highly desirable).
• 7+ years in technical specialist, design or architecture roles.
• Experience with AWS-based cloud solutions.
• Experience across systems, networking and operating systems.
• Experience designing and implementing serverless distributed solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C# or Rust.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting capability.
• Experience in Defence or National Security environments (highly desirable).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex, scalable and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting and engineering support throughout project delivery
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective migration strategies
• Act as a trusted advisor on cloud trends, emerging technologies and best practices
• Mentor internal and customer teams, contributing reusable artefacts and knowledge sharing
• Support enterprise cloud adoption initiatives across Defence and National Security domains
