Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to lead design, automation, and operation of scalable cloud platforms in Sydney. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-performance cloud solutions and drive digital transformation.

The role focuses on Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, and cloud-native delivery, with mentoring and cross-functional teamwork across a matrix organisation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar) and CI/CD automation.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, build automation tools, scripting languages, and software repositories.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, automation, and optimisation of secure, scalable cloud platforms.
• Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient software delivery.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud-native solutions.
• Manage and influence stakeholders across a complex matrix environment, balancing priorities and delivering objectives.
• Champion automation, observability, and DevSecOps practices to improve platform performance and security.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to ensure cloud environments are highly available and fit for purpose.
