Job summary

Transport for NSW seeks a security-focused engineer to embed security across the software development lifecycle for Enterprise Applications, implementing secure-by-design principles and automated controls to support rapid delivery with reduced risk.

The role emphasizes cloud security (AWS/Azure), IaC, CI/CD security, and IAM/RBAC, ensuring encryption, secrets management and Zero Trust approaches across platforms. This is a fixed-term full-time role until 30 June 2028.

Qualifications

• Experience in cloud and infrastructure security across AWS and Azure.
• Hands-on scripting/automation with Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with secure development practices, IAM, network security and encryption.

Responsibilities

• Embed security across the software development lifecycle for Enterprise Applications platforms.
• Implement secure-by-design principles, automate security controls, and establish guardrails for rapid delivery with reduced risk.
• Focus on secure development practices including automated code and infrastructure scanning, container security, CI/CD pipeline security, and reusable compliant solutions.
• Implement IAM, RBAC, network segmentation, encryption, secrets management and security baselines.
