Job summary

NTT DATA in Canberra is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud / DevOps Engineer to join our team. You’ll work across cloud engineering, infrastructure automation and application support, ensuring reliability, scalability and performance for a national-significance client.

You’ll collaborate with development and operations teams, mentor engineers, and take ownership of key technologies while delivering automated deployments on Microsoft Azure and related cloud services.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated practical experience with cloud implementations.
• Hands-on experience with Azure PROTECTED cloud environments.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
• Experience troubleshooting Java applications in a Linux environment, or Java development experience.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated deployments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, preferably including Ansible and ARM.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud development and engineering activities in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
• Build, maintain and improve Infrastructure as Code across a range of systems.
• Create and maintain automated deployments and self-service capabilities.
• Support and troubleshoot Java applications operating in Linux environments.
• Build and support services and technologies including Microsoft Azure.
• Use cloud-native tools to monitor the health and utilisation of cloud services.
• Undertake performance tuning and contribute to operational improvements.
• Participate in complex technical design and provide practical design input.
• Take ownership of relevant technologies within your area of specialisation.
• Investigate complex issues and upscale unresolved problems to the Technical Lead or appropriate third parties.
• Produce reports and maintain clear project documentation.
• Mentor and coach engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Work onsite with the client to understand and address complex solution requirements.
