Job summary

Whizdom in Canberra is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Architect / Cloud Engineer to lead enterprise cloud initiatives. You will design architectures, drive cloud engineering, and align solutions with government standards while guiding cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes Azure-based design, secure deployments, and collaboration across stakeholders in Agile settings. This 12-month contract may include remote arrangements where operationally feasible.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience implementing and managing cloud technologies.
• Proven ability to design and implement Azure-based solutions using App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, SQL, Service Bus and API Management.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for source control, IaC and CI/CD deployments.
• Strong understanding of Entra ID, Key Vault, Monitor, Application Insights, and RBAC.
• Experience integrating cloud platforms with Dynamics 365 and other third-party systems.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across dispersed teams.
• Experience delivering secure, reliable solutions within Agile multidisciplinary environments.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Senior Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers to support the delivery of a range of enterprise ICT initiatives within a large and complex technology environment.

Working as part of multidisciplinary teams, you will provide architectural leadership, cloud engineering expertise and technical guidance across the design, implementation and optimisation of cloud-based solutions. You will play a key role in developing enterprise cloud platforms, driving best practice architecture, and ensuring solutions align with government standards and organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience delivering secure and reliable solutions within Agile multidisciplinary environments.

Desirable Experience

• Technical leadership across project and operational environments.
• Experience developing application, integration or infrastructure platform architectures.
• Experience designing and documenting architectures for large-scale enterprise environments.
• Exposure to AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Security Requirements

Australian Citizenship is mandatory.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
