Job summary

WesCEF, a Wesfarmers division, is seeking a Senior Cloud and Identity Engineer based in Perth with hybrid arrangements. The role delivers secure, scalable Azure and identity platforms, driving automation, IaC, and cloud operations while aligning with our cloud-first strategy.

You will work across cloud and on-prem environments, collaborating with teams and vendors to optimise performance, security and cost. A strong focus on governance, automation and continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and cloud technologies.
• Proven experience across cloud and identity platforms in large enterprises.
• Designing, deploying and supporting scalable Azure solutions.
• Hands-on with Active Directory and hybrid identity services.
• Automation-focused with governance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Reporting to the Cloud and Identity Manager, the Senior Cloud and Identity Engineer will help drive the performance, security and evolution of our Azure and identity platforms. Working across cloud and on-premises environments, you'll play a key role in delivering secure, scalable solutions, advancing automation, optimising cloud operations and supporting our cloud-first strategy.

Responsibilities will include:

• Drive the adoption, performance and reliability of our Azure and cloud platforms.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure, identity and collaboration platform automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, leveraging technologies such as Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Bicep, Terraform, Azure DevOps and GitHub.
• Support cloud cost optimisation initiatives to maximise value and efficiency.
• Provide technical support across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Monitor, maintain and enhance cloud infrastructure to ensure security, availability and performance.
• Focal point of contact for cloud platform support whilst working closely with vendors and internal teams.
• Support complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, standards and operational procedures.
• Contribute to solution design and the delivery of cloud projects and enhancements.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying opportunities to improve cloud capabilities and business outcomes.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, coupled with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and cloud technologies.
• Proven experience working across cloud and identity platforms within large, complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated capability in designing, deploying and supporting scalable Microsoft Azure solutions.
• Strong technical knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity services.
• Sound understanding of governance frameworks, automation practices and operational excellence principles.
• Security-focused mindset with hands‑on experience implementing identity governance and access management controls.
• Advanced troubleshooting, automation and problem‑solving skills, with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Experience supporting process optimisation and innovation through scripting and modern engineering practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, take ownership and deliver outcomes autonomously.
• Adaptable, resilient and agile, with the flexibility to respond to evolving business needs and priorities.
