Job summary

WesCEF, part of Wesfarmers, seeks a Project Analyst to join our Business Development team in Perth. You will research markets, build financial models and provide evidence-based recommendations to support investments and decisions.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across corporate and divisional teams, develop forecasts, identify risks and contribute to a high-performing culture through knowledge sharing and learning. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Advanced financial analysis including modelling, valuation and risk assessment.
• Ability to prepare and present board reports and business cases to senior management.

About the role

We are looking for aProject Analyst to join our team and play a key role in evaluating and executing new business opportunities, capital investments and strategic projects. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, this key role will research industries and businesses, analyse market opportunities, build financial models and provide evidence-based recommendations that support investment and commercial decision-making.

Working across a diverse range of projects, you'll partner with stakeholders to assess opportunities, identify risks, develop forecasts and help drive business growth. Your role includes:

• Conducting industry, market and company research to support investment and commercial decisions.
• Analysing complex information and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations.
• Developing financial models, valuations and forecast scenarios to assess opportunities.
• Identifying key business drivers, trends and risks to inform commercial outcomes.
• Providing advice on multiple projects, ensuring quality delivery and timely execution.
• Monitoring market developments, industry trends and Australian corporate activity to identify emerging opportunities.
• Build and maintain effective relationships across corporate and divisional teams to deliver business outcomes.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture through knowledge sharing, continuous learning and active participation in team initiatives.
• Perform other duties as required by the Business Development Manager.

About you

We are seeking professionals with early career experience and aspirations towards broader roles in business management including:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• Experience in M&A, transactions, corporate finance or investment management, ideally within an investment bank, Big Four advisory practice, corporate development team or broader financial services environment.
• Strong commercial focus with a willingness to ask questions and challenge assumptions.
• Ability to prepare and present board reports and business cases to senior management and business unit leaders.
• Advanced financial analysis skills, including financial modelling, valuation and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and business partnering capabilities.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a willingness to learn, innovate and leverage technology.
• Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing business priorities and project requirements.
