Job summary

Mantel, an Australian-owned IT professional services consultancy, is seeking a Senior Cloud AI Engineer (GCP) to help grow our AI-first cloud practice in Australia. You will design, deploy and manage secure GCP-based infrastructure, mentor teammates and build trusted client relationships while contributing to our core platform.

You’ll work in a flexible hybrid setup, collaborating across security, data, and delivery domains, leveraging Vertex AI, Gemini, and Terraform within regulated

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying and managing GCP in complex enterprise environments.
• Proven GCP migration project experience.
• Solid knowledge of GCP networking, security, IAM concepts.
• Experience with AI tooling and infrastructure as code (Terraform / CDK).
• Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills.

About the role

We are looking for passionate consultants to help us grow our reputation in the marketplace by delivering high quality consulting services to our clients. They contribute to development of our core platform and patterns to meet current and future client requirements.

As a Senior Cloud AI Engineer GCP, you will develop and grow trusted relationships with clients, which complement the company's commercial and strategic relationships, whilst mentoring other team members. You'll contribute to the development of our core platform and patterns to meet current and future client requirements.

• Provide consulting services that combine architectural vision with hands-on technical experience using some of the latest cloud technologies and methods
• Design, develop, build and operate sophisticated and highly automated secure GCP and Hybrid infrastructure that adheres with Industry compliance standards
• Use software development and Software Configuration Management (SCM), DevOps and Continuous Integration methods to build, configure and manage the infrastructure
• Define and drive new architectures based on the applicable regulatory compliance standards and work with multiple stakeholders to gain endorsement
• Perform troubleshooting, analysis and resolve issues as needed to achieve project outcomes
• Liaise with the project team, clients, vendors and stakeholders using multiple communication channels to manage the delivery of the project
• Establish and maintain relationships with clients as a source of informed, reliable, professional advice about solution options based on the consultant's specific skills and knowledge.
• Willingness to continually upskill; including learning new technologies and obtaining new certifications
• Build, recognise and promptly advise the leadership team of potential follow-on business opportunities.
• Use professional judgement while treating colleagues and clients with respect and compassion, and a demonstrated ability to display our five Mantel principles

What you’ll need to be successful

• Good written & verbal communication skills, including strong stakeholder management, presentation and communication skills
• Specialist knowledge of several industries or segments, coupled with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to identify trends within their practice relating to products and services and communicate them effectively to the wider practice.
• Bring a positive can-do attitude to the team
• Ability to lead and mentor others where appropriate
• Demonstrated ability to adhere to reporting deadlines

What tech you’ll need to know:

• Experience in designing, deploying, and managing GCP solutions in complex enterprise environments
• Proven experience with GCP cloud migration projects from assessment to implementation
• Solid knowledge of GCP networking, security, identity, and access management concepts and best practices
• Experience working with AI tooling such as Vertex AI & Gemini
• Infrastructure as code - Terraform or CDK
• Containerising applications and securing container workloads in the cloud
• Serverless technologies - Serverless framework
• Scripting and automating - Golang, Bash and/or Python
• Experience with observability implementation and management
• GCP professional certifications highly regarded
