Job summary

Mantel Group Pty Ltd is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design and deliver AI solutions across pilots to enterprise scale. You will stand up cloud services for AI workloads and act as a technical advisor to clients and internal teams.

You will apply MLOps/LLM Ops practices, collaborate on pre-sales, and contribute to thought leadership while upholding Mantel’s five principles. Ideal candidates have commercial AI development experience, production experience, strong Python and cloud

Data Working in data at Mantel means you'll be ahead of the curve. You can align to a particular cloud platform or remain cloud agnostic, specialising in data engineering, machine learning, analytics, or data science. You'll design and scale enterprise-level, fully automated Agentic AI solutions, and speed up data platform migrations.

As a Machine Learning Engineer with Mantel Group you will work with other smart, passionate and skilled people to deliver high quality AI solutions to our clients.

Your day-to-day

Our projects and clients vary a lot - but here’s a typical snapshot of some of your responsibilities:

• AI Solution design and recommendation on approach.
• Developing AI solutions from pilots to enterprise applications.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Ability to use professional judgement while treating colleagues and clients with respect and compassion, and a demonstrated ability to display our Mantel five principles.
• Commercial AI development experience across different industries and organisations.
• Commercial experience of modern AI solution development.
• Ideally, experience of developing AI solutions into production with repeatable ML Ops/LLM Ops practices.
• Consulting experience, either with external clients or internally within an organisation.
• Fundamental modern software engineering skills (can design and implement a well structured code base and software development cycle, including CI/CD, TDD, monitoring/logging).
• Solid programming skills in at least one applicable language, such as Python.
• Cloud engineering skills to architect, use and deploy cloud services in at least one cloud stack.
• An understanding of traditional data science and modern AI concepts (such as Generative AI and Agentic AI).
• A growth mindset and approach to ongoing self learning that can be demonstrated.
• Exposure to one or more ML technologies and/or frameworks such as Sagemaker, Vertex AI, Azure AI, Snowflake, Databricks /ML Flow, AI API Services, and/or TensorFlow, Pytorch, Scikit-Learn etc, with demonstrable production experience
