Job summary

UniSC Clinical Trials on the Sunshine Coast seeks a Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator to lead assigned trial teams, ensuring trials meet ICH/GCP, UniSC SOPs and regulatory standards. You will independently manage complex coordination activities with sound judgement and innovative problem-solving to achieve efficient outcomes.

This role requires travel to sites and an on-call or confinement roster, with the ability to work outside standard hours.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Health Science/Nursing/Bio Medical or equivalent with relevant clinical trial experience.
  • Nurses must have current AHPRA registration and meet professional standards.
  • Strong knowledge of ethics/regulatory affairs for clinical trials.
  • Proficiency with databases/EDC and standard office software.

Job description

  • UniSC Clinical Trials | Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast (NEW CLINIC)
  • Level 7, $105,843 - $115,703 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation
  • Full-time (36.25 hours per week), 2 year fixed-term appointment
The Opportunity

You will lead and guide assigned clinical trial teams to ensure all trials are conducted to the highest quality standards, including ICH/GCP, UniSC CT SOPs, and applicable regulations. In this role, you will independently manage complex trial coordination activities, applying your expert knowledge of clinical research procedures, sound judgement, and innovative problem-solving skills to achieve outcomes efficiently and effectively.

Please note

This role requires flexibility to travel to different clinical trial sites as needed, and to work outside standard business hours to support confinement studies and other time-sensitive trial activities. You will also be required to participate in a 24/7 on-call or confinement roster.

You will
  • apply clinical trial expertise to manage the implementation and conduct of clinical research, and designated clinical trial teams, in accordance with the appropriate quality standards including International Conference on Harmonization (ICH)/Good Clinical Practice (GCP), UniSC CT’s standard operation procedures (SOPs), and applicable regulations, rules and guidance; and
  • collaborate with the CT’s team and sponsors to monitor and ensure the successful conduct and timely completion of clinical trials.
About you

You have strong expertise in ethics and regulatory frameworks, with solid knowledge of clinical research practices, ICH Good Clinical Practice, and relevant regulations. You’re proficient with databases, electronic data capture, and standard office software, and understand privacy principles for health information. You work effectively both independently and collaboratively, building positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

You will possess
  • Completion of a degree in Health Science/Nursing/Bio Medical and extensive relevant experience as a Clinical Trial Coordinator/Research Nurse or similar, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training. Note: Registered Nurses must have current registration with AHPRA and meet the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia professional standards;
  • Demonstrated experience, expertise, and broad knowledge in ethics/regulatory affairs frameworks;
  • Detailed knowledge of clinical research practices, including an understanding of the contractual and ethical obligations of clinical trials, and ICH Good Clinical Practice and applicable regulations;
  • High level computing skills (including databases, clinical trial electronic data entry, word processing and spreadsheets);
  • Sound understanding of privacy principals governing health information; and
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with peers, colleagues, and other team members.
