Job summary

NSW Health, Coastal Network, seeks a Social Worker Level 3 – Deputy Head of Department to lead a clinical team across regional sites and drive service development. You will provide supervision, support and training to staff while coordinating workloads within the network.

The role requires a tertiary social work qualification with AASW eligibility, excellent written and verbal communication, and a strong commitment to evidence-based practice. Travel across the network may be required.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification as a Social Worker and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• Demonstrated highly proficient written, verbal, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated clinical proficiency and ability to lead a clinical team, including provision of supervision, support and training to staff.
• Ability to prioritise and organise the clinical workloads within a team that may span more than one regional site within the Network.
• Experience in developing and optimising a range of clinical services, including protocols and new services.
• Evidence of ongoing personal continuous professional development.
• Demonstrated experience in and commitment to service development, quality improvement and leading the implementation of evidence based practice.
• Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
