Job summary

NSW Health's Northern Beaches Hospital Social Work team invites a motivated social worker to take on the permanent full-time Team Leader Level 4 role, delivering high-level clinical leadership across acute services.

You will lead staff across ED, ICU and CCU, support service development, drive quality improvement and education, and work in partnership with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Social Work with AASW eligibility.
• Advanced clinical experience in an acute health setting as a Level 3 Senior Social Worker.
• Experience in management and team leadership, including supervision.
• Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures for service improvement and skills in providing training and education.
• Well-developed time management with excellent written and verbal communication and high computer literacy.
• Demonstrated negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and high level clinical social work across NBH acute care services (ED, ICU, CCU).
• Support the Head of Department in refining and establishing NBH services (including crisis on-call).
• Be involved in improvement initiatives and accreditation processes.
• Support the development of students and less experienced clinicians.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
