Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Professional Services team in Australia. You will work on short to medium engagements solving data challenges with the Databricks platform, delivering data engineering, data science, and cloud projects, and training client teams to maximize value.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, Professional Services and travel 20–30% to customer sites. Databricks certification is a nice-to-have asset.

Qualifications

8+ years experience with big data technologies in a customer-facing role.
Comfortable writing code in Python or Scala.
Experience delivering technical projects with defined scope and timelines.
Documentation and white-boarding skills.
Experience working with clients and managing conflicts.

Responsibilities

Deliver customer technical projects: reference architectures and production-grade MVPs/greenfield work.
Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data/AI apps.
Consult on architecture, bootstrap or implement strategic customer projects with Databricks.
Provide escalated support for customer operational issues.
Collaborate with Databricks engineering, project managers, architects, and customer teams to deliver engagements.
Provide product and implementation feedback to engineering/support for issue resolution.
