Job summary

EY in Australia is seeking a Databricks Platform Engineer to design, build and optimize scalable cloud data platforms that support analytics, AI and data engineering workloads.

You will work with data engineers, architects and stakeholders to enable secure, high‑performing Databricks environments and contribute to platform security, governance and automation. This hybrid role can be based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney, with flexible hours to suit you.

Qualifications

• Experience designing cloud-based data platforms (Azure and/or AWS).
• Hands-on Databricks Data Intelligence Platform experience (workspace, compute, jobs).
• Proficiency with Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and related tools.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and DevOps (Terraform, CI/CD).
• Security, governance and monitoring of data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Databricks‑based data platforms on Azure or AWS.
• Configure and manage Databricks workspaces, clusters, jobs, workflows and permissions.
• Support Lakehouse architectures using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.
• Develop IaC and CI/CD pipelines for repeatable delivery.
• Implement platform security, governance and monitoring across cloud and Databricks.
• Collaborate with data engineers, AI engineers and architects to meet requirements.
