Allianz Australia is seeking a Senior Claims Service Consultant to lead complex property claims across multiple locations. You will apply robust judgment, manage relationships with brokers and customers, and drive outcomes in a dynamic general insurance environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing complex commercial property claims within a general insurance environment.
• Strong portfolio management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and workloads effectively.
• Experience working closely with insurance brokers, including negotiation of claim and settlement outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience conducting site visits and engaging directly with customers and stakeholders during significant loss events.
• Advanced understanding of liability assessment, policy interpretation, and claims strategy development.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence positive outcomes across diverse parties.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor, and support the development of colleagues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences.
• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities when managing complex and sensitive claims matters.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
• Proficiency across claims systems, reporting tools, and digital technologies
• A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Responsibilities

• Follow the AAL Claims Management Process.
• Ensure and maintain knowledge of current legislation and how this impacts claims management, applying soundly based decision-making to all claims and consistently making liability decisions of increasing complexity at claims lodgement and throughout the life of the claim.
• Support capability development by coaching less experienced members of the team.
• Manage a portfolio of claims from validation to finalisation within PCA authority levels and ensure that client is kept informed as per communication requirements.
• Review claims and authorise payments for other team members within allocated authority, ensuring adherence to AAL standards to minimise leakage and increased cost of claim.
• Manage claimant as well as internal and external stakeholder expectations and relationships. Build and maintain positive working relationships within the team and greater business unit.
• Tailor communication skills to suit client interactions, by matching voice tone, pace and style appropriately.
• Ensure compliance with all sections of the General Insurance Code of Practice, following processes and procedures to avoid legislation breaches.
• Provide timely and effective response to customer needs and the accurate processing of claims, adhering to AAL phone standards.
