Job summary

Etheredge Mintern, a well-established Melbourne civil construction contractor, seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to own a portfolio of civil projects from handover to close-out. You will lead delivery teams, ensure safety, on-time delivery and profitability, and report to senior management.

You will manage multiple projects, coordinate with councils, clients and consultants, and maintain program, budget and procurement controls to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing civil construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong experience in local government and/or civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project financials, budgets and forecasting.
• Experience with progress claims, variations, EOTs and contract administration.
• Strong programming and construction planning skills.
• Ability to manage supervisors, subcontractors and construction crews.
• Excellent client and stakeholder management.
• Strong commercial awareness and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of projects from estimating through to completion.
• Develop and maintain construction programs.
• Plan labour, plant, materials and subcontractor requirements.
• Manage supervisors, foremen, subcontractors and resources.
• Maintain relationships with councils, clients and consultants.
• Manage budgets and monitor actual vs forecast costs.
• Prepare and review progress claims.
• Identify, price and manage variations.
• Handle Extensions of Time and contract correspondence.
• Procure subcontractors, materials and services.
• Monitor productivity and project performance.
• Identify risks early and implement solutions.
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Conduct regular project reviews and forecasting.
• Drive projects through Practical Completion and close-out.
• Report clearly on performance, risks and opportunities.
