Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director, Transport Infrastructure – Civil Engineering, based in Rockhampton. You will lead civil projects, manage client relationships, and mentor a regional team of engineers and designers.

Your role spans design, risk assessment, and delivery on transport infrastructure programs. Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree with RPEQ, 12+ years of experience, and a track record in project management and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with RPEQ and ideally 12+ years experience in consultancy, local Council or State Government
• Extensive design and/or project management experience on civil infrastructure and transport projects
• Proven knowledge of Australian Standards and delivering projects with strong stakeholder engagement
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to lead and mentor junior team members and manage financial reporting on projects

Responsibilities

• Lead general civil work including road design and urban precinct planning for government and private sector clients
• Act as Project Manager / Technical Lead on a range of projects, including business development and bidding
• Collaborate with engineers across Australia to deliver transport design services
• Provide team leadership, training, and mentoring to support professional development
• Contribute to strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration across the business
