Job summary

Hatch in Perth, Western Australia, is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversee major mining, energy and infrastructure projects. Based in our Perth office, lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver civil solutions from concept to construction support.

You will mentor engineers, drive high-quality outcomes and support business development while engaging with clients and stakeholders across Australia and globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
• CPEng through Engineers Australia, or eligibility to obtain chartership; RPEQ highly regarded.
• 15+ years delivering mining, resources, energy, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in bulk earthworks, site grading, drainage, stormwater, roads and pavements.
• Strong hydrology, hydraulics and earth structures knowledge.
• Proficient with Civil 3D, 12d Model, AutoCAD or similar software.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on complex projects.
• Ability to mentor engineers and manage competing priorities for high-quality outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate civil engineering delivery for major projects.
• Provide technical leadership across earthworks, drainage, roads and pavements.
• Act as Civil Discipline Lead, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Oversee and approve engineering calculations, reports and specs.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of designs and deliverables.
• Work with project managers and multidisciplinary teams for successful outcomes.
• Mentor and develop civil engineers and designers.
• Support business development, proposals and client engagement.
