Job summary

Hatch in Perth is recruiting a Lead Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversee the delivery of major mining, energy, and infrastructure projects across Australia and globally. Based in our Perth office, you will lead multidisciplinary teams from concept through design and construction support.

As a senior leader, you will engage clients, mentor engineers, and drive engineering excellence while aligning with regulatory requirements and project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent recognised qualification.
• CPEng through Engineers Australia, or eligibility to obtain chartership. RPEQ highly regarded.
• 15+ years of experience delivering mining, resources, energy, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Extensive experience in bulk earthworks, site grading, drainage, stormwater management, road and pavement design, and water management infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics and earth structures.
• Experience with Civil 3D, 12d Model, AutoCAD or other industry-standard civil design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate civil engineering delivery for major mining, energy, industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical leadership across bulk earthworks, site grading, drainage, roads, and pavements.
• Act as the Civil Discipline Lead, ensuring designs meet project, client and Australian regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and approve engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications and contract documentation.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of civil designs, drawings and project deliverables.
• Work closely with project managers, clients and multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Mentor, coach and develop civil engineers and designers across project teams.
• Support business development activities, proposal preparation, client engagement and project planning.
