Job summary

Amey Australia is seeking a senior civil engineer to assume hands‑on design, project management and team leadership in Dubbo. You will own projects from feasibility through delivery, supervise budgets and client expectations, and mentor engineers and draftspeople.

You’ll work with clients, coordinate internal and external resources, and contribute to business development through proposals and relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years’ experience in civil design and project management (10+ years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards and approvals.
• Strong design skills with 12d Model, Watercom Drains, AutoCad.
• Confidence managing budgets and client relationships.
• A practical, leadership-minded approach.
• Experience with urban development and road infrastructure.

About the Role

Looking for senior‑level responsibility without city gridlock? This Senior Civil Engineer role in Dubbo offers genuine project ownership, leadership influence, and the chance to build a balanced regional lifestyle without stepping back technically or commercially.

This is a hands‑on senior position combining civil design, project management and team leadership. We’re looking for a well‑rounded engineer who can manage projects from feasibility through to delivery, staying close to technical outcomes while also overseeing program, budget and client expectations.

You’ll work directly with clients, coordinate internal and external resources and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard. A key part of the role is mentoring engineers and drafts people, reviewing work, and helping build a capable and confident team. You’ll also contribute to business development through client relationships and proposals.

This role will allow you to undertake technical design, oversee the technical work of others and also manage projects and clients.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
• Around 8+ years’ experience in civil design and project management (10+ years preferred) within an engineering consulting environment
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards and approvals
• Strong engineering design skills including 12d Model, Watercom Drains, AutoCad and similar industry standard design software packages;
• Confidence managing projects, budgets and client relationships
• A practical, leadership‑minded approach
• Experience with urban development and road infrastructure.
