Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Junior Civil Drafter to join the Global Rail Infrastructure Team in Perth, WA. This 3-month contract offers exposure to major rail and civil projects, with the opportunity to develop AutoCAD/MicroStation drafting skills across site and concept through to construction phases.

Based in Perth with a minimum three days in the office, you will prepare 2D/3D drawings, alignments, sections, and IFC documentation, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering Drafting or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality documentation.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards and specifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D and 3D drawings for rail and civil infrastructure projects.
• Develop rail alignment plans, longitudinal sections, cross-sections and track layout drawings.
• Produce drawings for earthworks, drainage, and associated civil infrastructure.
• Prepare Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation in line with project requirements and industry standards.
• Manage drawing revisions and incorporate design updates throughout project delivery.
• Maintain drawing registers and support document control processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure quality and consistency across project deliverables.

Shape the Future of Rail Infrastructure An exciting opportunity has become available for a Junior Civil Drafter to join a globally connected Rail Infrastructure team based in Perth. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early career drafter looking to develop their technical skills and build a long-term career within a collaborative engineering environment. You'll gain exposure to major rail and civil infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced specialists delivering projects from concept through to construction across Australia and internationally.

This is a Perth-based position with a minimum requirement of three days per week in the office.
