Job summary

UGL is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to deliver earthworks, stormwater and pavements for major utilities and energy projects across NSW and beyond. You’ll work hands-on with 12d or Civil 3D, producing models, drawings and reports.

The role offers hybrid work, opportunity to mentor junior engineers, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and contribute to large scale battery storage, substations and transmission projects as part of a growing civil design team.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil site design across earthworks, drainage and pavements.
• Proficiency with 12d or Civil 3D and related design tools.
• Ability to work across structured design stages with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop earthworks models, balance bulk earthworks, set site levels and prepare cut and fill volumes.
• Design stormwater systems, culverts, trenches, access roads and pavements, coordinating with drafters.
• Prepare technical documents, specifications and design reports across design stages.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, primary plant and other disciplines during reviews and tenders.
• Support design quality, innovation and continuous improvement across civil outputs.
• Contribute to developing junior engineers through design review support and mentoring.
• Build capability toward ownership of civil design packages and broader coordination.
