Job summary

Inner-North Melbourne Pub is seeking an experienced Senior Chef de Partie / Sous Chef to join a busy kitchen team. You will lead the kitchen during service, collaborate with the Head Chef, and help drive high standards in a four-day week operation.

You will work closely with the Head Chef to maintain quality, lead the team, manage stock and costs, and mentor junior cooks in a supportive, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Previous senior CDP or Sous Chef experience with leadership.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Understanding of food costs, stock control and kitchen ops.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations.
• Lead and support the kitchen team during service.
• Maintain food quality, presentation and portions.
• Manage stock rotation, ordering and stock control.
• Monitor costs, wastage and kitchen efficiency.
• Ensure food safety and workplace cleanliness.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
• Contribute to menu development and kitchen improvements.
