Job summary

AIG is seeking a Senior Casualty Underwriter for the Southern Region, with the role based in Melbourne or Perth. You will learn to assess client risk, price solutions, and drive profitability across commercial Casualty products, leveraging AIG’s extensive knowledge and global reach.

In this role you will work under the Southern Region Casualty Underwriting Manager, developing broker relationships, achieving targeted production, and contributing to AIG’s growth in the Australian market while

Qualifications

• Casualty underwriting experience across Primary Casualty and Excess/Umbrella in commercial sector.
• Entrepreneurial and solution-based approach with strong technical skills.
• Proven working relationship with key broking partners.
• Understanding of management reporting, profitability, and pricing principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills.
• Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and underwrite Commercial business within delegated authority.
• Meet production targets through marketing objectives and broker relationships.
• Increase AIG market share within the Casualty segment.
• Provide timely production and portfolio reporting.
• Develop strategies to grow profitable Casualty business in Australia.
• Collaborate with regional teams to grow the Commercial segment.
