ModX Pty Ltd, a Central Queensland-based construction company, is seeking an experienced full-time senior carpenter with supervisory experience to join our construction team in Rockhampton. You will lead carpentry tasks across modular building projects, interpreting plans and coordinating a small crew.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and on-time delivery, with an annual salary range of $85,000 to $88,000 plus super. Strong knowledge of wall frames, floors, and joinery is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years' experience in carpentry.
• AQF Certificate III or equivalent.
• Driver's license.
• Ability to supervise staff.
• Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously.
• Experience with power tools.

Responsibilities

• Construct and install wall frames, floors, and other modular building components.
• Interpret drawings to determine material needs and methods.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other materials.
• Inspect components and carry out adjustments to ensure quality.
• Lead and supervise a team of 11–20 workers and allocate tasks.
• Ensure safety and compliance with standards and MODX procedures.

By managing every stage of the construction process in-house, from design and manufacturing to delivery and installation, ModX delivers innovative, efficient, and durable building solutions while maintaining exceptional quality, safety, and customer service. We are currently seeking an experienced full-time senior carpenter with supervisory experience to join our construction team based in Rockhampton.

Annual salary range: $ 85,000 - $88,000 + superannuation

Key responsibilities

• Constructing and installing wall frames, partitions, floors, raised platforms, cabinets, shelving, joinery, and other components used in MODX's steel-frame modular building projects.
• Interpreting technical drawings and building plans to determine material requirements, dimensions, and appropriate construction and assembly methods.
• Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and other construction materials in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Inspecting completed components, identifying defects, and carrying out necessary adjustments and repairs to ensure accurate assembly and installation.
• Leading and supervising a team of 11 to 20 employees in carpentry and construction work, including allocating tasks, checking quality of work and ensuring safe work practices
• Ensuring all carpentry activities comply with workplace health and safety requirements, relevant building standards, and MODX's established procedures.

Skills and qualifications
