Job summary

Experience Broken Hill is seeking an experienced Senior Park Manager to take full business and operational responsibility for Broken Hill Tourist Park and Sturt Motel, our largest and most complex accommodation portfolio.

You'll lead day-to-day operations across 45 cabins and 171 sites at Broken Hill Tourist Park and 21 rooms at Sturt Motel, with a hands-on approach to people, performance, standards and accountability.

• This isn’t a first management appointment.

• Understands the difference between being busy and managing a business.

Experience Broken Hill is looking for an experienced Senior Park Manager to take full business and operational responsibility for Broken Hill Tourist Park and Sturt Motel, our largest and most complex accommodation portfolio.

Broken Hill Tourist Park comprises 45 cabins and 171 sites, while Sturt Motel adds a further 21 rooms, creating a diverse and substantial accommodation operation.

This is the more senior of our two property management appointments and is suited to someone who understands that great management is about people, commercial performance, standards and accountability.

You'll work closely with the Owners and take responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of your portfolio.

What you'll be responsible for

You'll lead housekeeping, grounds and maintenance through your supervisors and team, while remaining visible across the businesses and willing to step in when circumstances require.

The person we're looking for

This isn't a first management appointment.

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate previous responsibility for people, budgets and operational performance.

You'll be commercially minded, organised and comfortable holding people accountable while building a positive team culture.

Most importantly, you'll understand the difference between being busy and managing a business.

You'll know when to step into an operational issue, but you'll also be able to step back, look at the numbers, develop your people, plan ahead and keep the whole operation moving in the right direction.

We're also looking for someone comfortable leading people who may have greater technical expertise than them in particular areas. Great managers build strong teams around them.

Previous holiday park, caravan park, resort, motel, hotel or accommodation management experience will be highly regarded.

One management team

You'll work closely with our Park Manager at Outback View Holiday Park and Away Cottages.

Dedicated after-hours support is already in place across the business. As part of the management team, you'll provide after-hours coverage when the usual after-hours team member is on scheduled days off or annual leave.

Our managers also support each other across days off and annual leave, helping provide continuity across the properties while ensuring each Manager can take proper time away from the business.

As Senior Park Manager, you'll also play an important leadership role within the broader Experience Broken Hill management team.

Broken Hill is a proud, close-knit community in the heart of the Australian outback.

It's a remarkable place to live and work, but we're also upfront about remote living. Broken Hill is around 1,100 kilometres from Sydney and more than 500 kilometres from Adelaide.

This opportunity will particularly suit someone who has previously lived or worked regionally or remotely, or who genuinely understands what making that move involves.

The work isn't quiet either. These are busy accommodation businesses and we're looking for someone who enjoys responsibility and likes seeing the results of their decisions.
