We’re working with a global financial services organisation looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join its Risk Technology function.

The role sits within a Risk Reporting team and will work closely with the Product Owner, development team and global Risk stakeholders to define requirements, improve reporting and translate complex risk needs into clear technology solutions.

The role

You’ll act as the key Business Analyst supporting the team across Risk Reporting and technology delivery.

Your work will include:

• Working with Market Risk and Risk Reporting stakeholders to understand business needs

• Gathering, challenging and documenting requirements

• Translating risk requirements into clear requirements for technology teams

• Understanding data flows, systems and dependencies across the Risk environment

• Supporting changes to Risk Reporting systems and processes

• Working closely with developers through delivery, testing and implementation

• Managing stakeholders across Australia and international markets

• Bringing structure and clarity to complex or loosely defined problems

What we’re looking for

You’ll need solid Business Analysis experience within financial services, ideally across Market Risk, Risk Reporting or Risk Technology.

Relevant experience may include:

• Market Risk

• Risk Reporting

• Trading or capital markets environments

• VaR / Value at Risk

• P&L or risk exposure reporting

• Risk limits and controls

• Front-to-back trade or risk data

• Financial markets products

• Regulatory or internal risk reporting

This is a Business Analyst role and you will not be a developer or building systems. However you should be technically comfortable enough to work closely with engineering teams and understand how systems, data and business processes connect.

You’ll be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, asking detailed questions and getting underneath what the business actually needs rather than simply taking requirements at face value.

The environment is global and complex, so you’ll need to be able to work independently, deal with ambiguity and communicate clearly across both Risk and Technology.
