Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with a strong data focus to join a major financial services organisation in Sydney. You will work in a central enterprise data function across Risk, Finance and Technology to shape and deliver data products, platform capabilities and strategic data solutions.

We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst with strong, hands‑on experience delivering data initiatives to join a major financial services organisation.

This role sits within a central enterprise data function, working across Risk, Finance and Technology to shape and deliver data products, platform capabilities and strategic data solutions.

This is not a generalist BA role. We're looking for someone whose experience is genuinely centred around data transformation, data products, data platforms and enterprise data capabilities.

What you'll be doing

• Lead business analysis across enterprise data strategy and data transformation initiatives
• Define and document data requirements, business rules, data definitions and business needs
• Work with business stakeholders to understand how data needs to be produced, consumed and used to support decision‑making and regulatory requirements
• Translate complex business needs into practical, scalable solutions alongside data, technology and architecture teams
• Contribute to the development of enterprise data products and reusable data capabilities
• Analyse complex data‑related problems and identify opportunities to improve data quality, consistency, scalability and reuse
• Facilitate workshops and bring business and technology stakeholders together around data requirements and solutions
• Support the successful delivery and adoption of new data capabilities across the organisation

What we're looking for

• Senior Business Analyst experience with a strong and demonstrable data focus
• Financial services or banking experience
• Proven delivery experience across data platforms, data products, enterprise data solutions or data transformation
• Strong capability in defining data requirements, business rules, data flows and data‑related business requirements
• Experience working closely with data teams, technology teams, architects and business stakeholders
• Ability to understand complex business problems and translate them into effective, scalable data solutions
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and build alignment with senior stakeholders
• Experience operating within a large, complex enterprise environment

• Risk or Finance data experience
• Data governance, data quality or regulatory data experience
• Experience with enterprise data transformation
• Experience working with data products or product‑oriented data delivery
• Experience developing reusable data capabilities across multiple business areas
