Job summary

SMEC seeks a Senior Engineer – Bridges & Structures to lead bridge and structural design across North Queensland and Australia. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan, analyse, design and deliver complex transport infrastructure projects.

You bring 6–8 years’ experience, strong design and analysis skills, knowledge of Australian standards, and a commitment to safety, quality and client outcomes. Relocation and flexible work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 6-8 years’ experience delivering bridge and structural engineering projects.
• Experience undertaking structural analysis, design and assessment.
• Strong knowledge of relevant Australian standards and design codes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bridge and structural design solutions across all project phases.
• Undertake structural analysis, design calculations and technical reviews.
• Prepare reports, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve integrated project outcomes.
• Support project delivery to programme, budget and quality objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor and support graduate and developing engineers.
• Contribute to business development, proposals and technical excellence initiatives.
