Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council in NSW seeks a Senior Bridge and Structures Engineer to shape the long-term planning and management of bridge and structure assets across the city. You'll lead asset management plans, lifecycle models and renewal programs, provide specialist engineering advice, assess assets, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver safe, sustainable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in bridge/civil structures inspection, assessment, maintenance or asset management.
• Knowledge of AS 5100, Austroads Guide to Bridge Technology or TfNSW standards.
• Experience applying asset management, risk management and lifecycle planning.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience preparing technical documentation and engineering advice.
• Class C Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and management of Council's bridge and structure assets.
• Develop asset management plans, lifecycle models and renewal programs that support informed investment decisions.
• Provide specialist engineering advice on bridge and structural asset performance, risk and lifecycle management.
• Assess existing and proposed bridge and structure assets to determine future requirements.
• Develop and manage forward capital works and renewal programs aligned with Council priorities.
• Provide senior technical leadership, mentoring and peer review within the team.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve effective community outcomes.
• Support legislative compliance, risk management and reporting requirements relating to Council's bridge and structure assets.
