Lake Macquarie City Council – Newcastle NSW is seeking a Senior Bridge and Structures Engineer to lead the planning and management of bridge and structure assets across the council's network, including major culverts and retaining walls. You will ensure safety, reliability and sustainability for a growing community.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline
• Experience in bridge and civil structures inspection, assessment, maintenance or asset management
• Knowledge of bridge standards incl. AS 5100, Austroads Guide to Bridge Technology or TfNSW standards
• Experience applying asset management, risk management and lifecycle planning
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience preparing technical documentation and engineering advice
• Class C Driver's Licence

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and management of Council's bridge and structure assets
• Develop asset management plans, lifecycle models and renewal programs
• Provide specialist engineering advice on bridge and structural performance, risk and lifecycle management
• Assess existing and proposed bridge assets to determine future requirements
• Develop and manage forward capital works and renewal programs
• Provide senior technical leadership, mentoring and peer review
• Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve community outcomes
• Support legislative compliance, risk management and reporting requirements
