Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council is seeking an exceptional leader to join the Built and Natural Assets leadership team and help shape infrastructure, public spaces and community assets that support more than 220,000 residents today and for generations to come.

As Manager Assets, you'll lead strategic planning, management and delivery of assets worth billions of dollars, including roads, footpaths, libraries, playgrounds, jetties and waterfront assets.

At Lake Macquarie City Council, we're planning for the future of one of Australia's fastest-growing regional cities.

We're looking for an exceptional leader to join our Built and Natural Assets leadership team and help shape the infrastructure, public spaces and community assets that support more than 220,000 residents today and for generations to come.

As Manager Assets, you'll lead the strategic planning, management and delivery of a diverse portfolio of community and infrastructure assets worth billions of dollars. From roads, footpaths and drainage networks to playgrounds, sporting facilities, libraries, community buildings, jetties and waterfront assets, your work will directly influence how our city grows and how our community experiences that growth.

This is a significant leadership opportunity. You'll lead a team of approximately 55 highly skilled professionals, manage an operating budget of around $42 million and oversee the delivery of a capital program of approximately $66 million. But what makes this role truly exciting is the opportunity to create lasting impact through the places and infrastructure our community relies on every day.

Reporting to the Director Built and Natural Assets, you'll be a key member of Council's Organisational Leadership Team, contributing to organisation-wide decision making and helping shape the long-term future of our city. You'll work alongside a collaborative and capable leadership team that is passionate about delivering meaningful outcomes for the community.

You're a strategic and authentic leader who enjoys bringing together technical expertise, people leadership, financial stewardship and community outcomes.

You can see the bigger picture while maintaining a strong focus on delivery. You thrive in complex environments, build trusted relationships and bring people together to achieve shared goals. You're equally comfortable engaging with technical specialists, executive leaders, governing bodies and community stakeholders.
