Job summary

Hays partners with a private property group in Australia to appoint a senior bookkeeper who will own the internal finance function across multi-entity operations. This hands-on role partners directly with Directors and leadership, delivering end-to-end bookkeeping and robust financial controls.

You will manage intercompany transactions, BAS, payroll tax and month-end processes while supporting reporting and investor distributions in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced Xero experience is essential, including multi-entity structures and integrations.
• Proven background managing complex, high-volume bookkeeping environments.
• Strong experience with intercompany transactions and compliance (BAS, payroll tax, STP).
• Comfortable working directly with business owners and senior stakeholders.
• Able to operate independently with strong accountability and resilience.
• Property experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple entities with high volumes of intercompany transactions
• Oversee end-to-end bookkeeping - AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations and reporting
• Handle quarterly BAS obligations and compliance requirements
• Lead month-end processes, journals and management reporting
• Partner directly with Directors and liaise with external advisors
• Support investor distributions and entity-level financial operations
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders including trust accounting teams
