Job summary

Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) is seeking a Senior Calibration Engineering Technician to support SA Pathology, ensuring biomedical and electromechanical equipment is safe, accurate and reliable. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs and calibrations, and document results to engineering standards.

Join a small, multi-disciplinary team and contribute to continuous improvement while staying abreast of new technologies and industry developments.

Qualifications

• Qualifications and extensive experience in maintaining, repairing, calibrating and acquiring complex biomedical and electromechanical equipment to strict engineering standards.
• Strong technical knowledge, including engineering principles and relevant Australian/International Standards and Codes.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to prepare complex technical reports, specifications and tender evaluations.
• Self-motivated, adaptable and safety-focused, able to work independently or in a self-managed team and deliver quality outcomes under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, calibrate and acquire complex biomedical/electromechanical equipment to engineering standards.
• Diagnose issues, undertake repairs and calibrations.
• Accurately document results in line with engineering standards.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff, external agencies and contractors to provide technical advice and responsive support.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and stay updated with emerging technologies.
