Job summary

Talent Insights Group in Sydney is seeking a Senior BI Developer for a daily rate contract to own data from requirements through to storytelling dashboards. You will build robust ETL pipelines, data models, and self-serve reports to empower stakeholders with trusted insights.

You will design star schemas, validate data quality, and deliver Power BI/Tableau dashboards while writing optimized SQL, DAX, and Power Query. This role demands autonomy and strong collaboration with business users.

Qualifications

• Hands-on ETL and data modelling experience.
• Proven Power BI development experience.
• Strong SQL and DAX skills.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Self-driven with strong stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and shape them into a data and visualisation solution.
• Design and build ETL pipelines and data models across multiple source systems.
• Build star schema and medallion architecture models to support self-serve reporting.
• Validate and quality-check data before it reaches a dashboard.
• Build Power BI/Tableau dashboards that clearly tell the story behind the data.
• Write and optimise SQL, DAX and Power Query for performance at scale.
• Work autonomously, owning problems end-to-end rather than waiting for direction.
