Job summary

SAL Consulting is seeking a Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary clinical team in NSW. You’ll work across diverse settings to help create meaningful change for individuals, families and systems. The role emphasizes supervision, professional development and leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Mandatory psychology-related degree and relevant field.
• Unrestricted Australian working rights.
• Current Driver's Licence and background checks (WWCC and NDIS Worker Screening) or ability to obtain before commencement.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting developing practitioners.

Our work in Sydney is varied and provides a strong base in working with people with a range of underlying developmental and mental health related issues. Our Sydney team complete a range of assessments with diverse client populations, including Early childhood developmental, FASD, ASD, Psychosocial, Behavioural, Parenting capacity, Dementia, Forensic assessment. The use of assessments relating to learning difficulties, executive functioning, depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. are also utilised as appropriate.

Our client groups are diverse, and while largely funded through the NDIS, are inclusive of a wide range of presentations stemming from developmental trauma, developmental disability, neuro developmental disorders, traumatic brain injury, and mental health issues.

Skills And Experiences

Mandatory Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g.: Education; Habilitation; Social Work; etc.) relevant to the field of behaviour support
• Assessment against the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission's Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework at the Proficient level or higher
• Unrestricted Australian working rights
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or the ability to obtain these prior to commencement

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
• Experience working within at least one relevant funding environment (e.g. NDIS, education, child protection, health, justice or related sectors)
• Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting developing practitioners

Highly Regarded

• Formal supervision experience
• Experience in working with people with intellectual disability, trauma histories and complex support needs
• Experience working collaboratively with families, support networks and multidisciplinary teams to achieve outcomes in everyday environments
• Experience in practice development activities
