Job summary

Earlytrade is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus to own critical services and APIs for our fintech platform. You will work primarily with Java Spring Boot, a Node/TypeScript GraphQL layer, and PostgreSQL, with selective frontend involvement.

You will collaborate closely with the COO and product team, shaping architecture and data models while delivering secure, high-trust financial workflows. Hybrid work in Sydney is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering, backend or full stack.
• Experience with B2B SaaS or fintech payments and financial workflows.
• Expert in Java Spring Boot: Spring Security, Data JPA, MVC.
• Proficiency in GraphQL API design and TypeScript.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience with schema design and migrations.
• Solid React experience for frontend surfaces when needed.
• Experience with OAuth2/JWT authentication and REST API design.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade Java Spring Boot services.
• Own backend architecture: data modeling, API contracts, security patterns.
• Write and optimize complex PostgreSQL queries and migrations.
• Implement GraphQL schemas, resolvers, and subscriptions.
• Enforce backend quality with unit, integration, and contract tests.
• Collaborate with Frontend on API design and data contracts.
• Contribute to React frontend when needed.
• Mentor junior engineers on backend craft and system design.
