Job summary

The Network Technology Recruitment in Canberra, ACT, AU seeks a Senior Full Stack Java Developer to join a major Federal Government program delivering mission-critical applications and large-scale data platforms in a secure Azure environment.

You will contribute hands-on backend development with design-to-production ownership, working with Java/Spring Boot microservices, Kafka, NiFi, Elasticsearch, and React/TypeScript as part of a distributed, cloud-first stack.

Qualifications

• 7+ years enterprise Java development experience.
• Strong Java, Spring Framework and Spring Boot expertise.
• Recent hands-on backend development; not purely architecture or leadership.
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Kafka, NiFi and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with large-scale data integration and high-volume platforms.
• Proficient in SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL or similar).
• CI/CD, Jenkins, Maven and automated testing.
• Visible technical leadership and end-to-end solution ownership.
• NV1 security clearance or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Own complex backend solutions from design through production support.
• Take responsibility for end-to-end delivery in mission-critical systems.
• Collaborate across teams to ship scalable microservices on Azure.

Job Description

The Network are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Java Developer to join a major Federal Government program delivering mission-critical applications and large-scale data platforms supporting national law enforcement and intelligence capabilities.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role with a strong backend focus, requiring someone who can take ownership of complex solutions from design through to production support.

Critical Requirements

• 7+ years' enterprise Java development experience
• Strong Java, Spring Framework and Spring Boot
• Recent hands-on backend development - not purely architecture or leadership
• Microservices, REST APIs and distributed systems
• Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi and Elasticsearch
• Large-scale data integration, processing and high-volume platforms
