Job summary

CBUS Super Fund in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable cloud and DevOps platforms supporting technology services and project delivery.

You will own Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Azure DevOps, automation, and platform engineering, ensuring governance and ongoing improvement across Architecture, Security, Delivery, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong Azure cloud knowledge across identity, networking, security and platform operations.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Infrastructure as Code practices (Terraform) and automation tooling.
• Administer, maintain and optimise Azure DevOps services, repositories and pipelines.
• Deliver cloud/platform engineering outcomes across BAU and projects, including change and release management.
• Provide senior technical support and escalation management; ensure solutions meet CBUS standards.
• Mentor engineers and drive modern DevOps practices and documentation.

About the role

As Senior Azure DevOps Engineer, you will deliver reliable, secure and scalable cloud and DevOps platforms that support CBUS technology services and project delivery. You will own Infrastructure as Code, Azure DevOps, automation and platform engineering services, ensuring solutions are governed, operationally supported and continuously improved.

This role is important because it strengthens the platforms and engineering practices that enable consistent, resilient and efficient technology delivery. Working across Architecture, Security, Delivery and Operations, you will provide senior technical assurance, resolve complex issues and help uplift engineering capability across CBUS.

Key accountabilities

• Own and evolve Infrastructure as Code practices, including Terraform, automation tooling and reusable platform patterns.
• Administer, maintain and optimise Azure DevOps services, repositories, pipelines and engineering workflows.
• Deliver cloud and platform engineering outcomes across business-as-usual and project initiatives, including change, release and deployment activities.
• Provide senior technical support and escalation management, and assure vendor solutions against CBUS security, architecture and engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers, maintain technical documentation and drive modern DevOps practices, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

What will you bring?

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong Azure cloud knowledge across identity, networking, security and platform operations, supported by relevant Microsoft Azure certification or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, and automation in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms, source control, Azure DevOps and modern software delivery practices.
• The ability to resolve complex technical issues, collaborate across disciplines and mentor others; experience in regulated or highly governed environments is desirable.
