Job summary

Compas is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to take a hands-on role in a Microsoft Azure cloud platform within a complex Australian Government environment. You will work with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, GitHub Actions and IaC technologies to strengthen observability, automate deployments and deliver secure, reliable production releases. Location: ACT.

Contract duration: 24 November 2026 to 30 June 2027 with 3 x 12-month extension options. Closing date: Tuesday, 10 November 2026.

Qualifications

Experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise Azure environments.
Proficient in YAML-based CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
Expertise automating infrastructure with Bicep or Terraform.
Strong knowledge of Azure monitoring and observability tools.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain Azure monitoring, alerting and observability using Application Insights, Log Analytics, KQL and Azure Monitor.
Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy to automate deployments.
Implement infrastructure as code, improve platform performance and resilience, and manage secrets.
Troubleshoot Azure incidents and collaborate with cyber security to improve reliability.
