Job summary

Oorwin is seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer in Sydney, NSW, Australia to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud environments for enterprise apps.

You will lead AWS CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure design, with hands-on work on EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and ECS/EKS, plus containerization with Docker/Kubernetes. Strong scripting and security practices are required.

Qualifications

• Proven DevOps experience in AWS environments.
• Strong skills in AWS CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure design.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS).
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes containerization/orchestration.
• Understanding of AWS security best practices and compliance.
• AWS certification (e.g., DevOps Engineer – Professional) desirable.
• Experience in government or highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure for high availability and scalability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS DevOps tools or equivalents.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with IaC (CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Manage application deployments with minimal downtime and high reliability.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Troubleshoot performance, security, and deployment issues across cloud environments.
