Job summary

Amazon Web Services in Perth, WA, is seeking a Senior Delivery Consultant for AWS Professional Services. This on-site, full-time role focuses on leading the end-to-end Application Modernisation workstream, decomposing a legacy Oracle monolith into domain APIs, and guiding architectural decisions with senior customer stakeholders.

You will define service boundaries, sequence teardown across business units, and design production-grade APIs while balancing modernization ambition with delivery risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or related field is required.
• Experience managing large-scale enterprise IT projects and associated risks.
• Familiarity with SDLC and agile/iterative methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Own the Application Modernisation workstream end-to-end—domain decomposition, API design, and delivery governance.
• Lead the decomposition of a 30-year Oracle monolith into domain APIs with business modeling.
• Define domain teardown sequencing across units and minimize disruption to consumers.
• Design production web-facing APIs with versioning to avoid breaking existing users.
• Balance future-state architecture with pragmatic v1 designs to control risk and rework.
• Establish end-to-end modernisation processes from discovery to cutover planning.
• Collaborate with AI workstream lead to integrate AI discovery with domain design.
• Advise senior stakeholders on architecture direction and sequencing trade-offs.
• Serve as senior technical authority on legacy decomposition and governance.
• Mentor teams in legacy modernisation, domain-driven design, and API-first delivery.
