Job summary

Amazon Web Services in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a Senior Delivery Consultant to lead the Application Modernisation workstream, decomposing a decades-old Oracle monolith into domain APIs and defining governance and boundaries.

You will collaborate with an Agentic AI workstream lead, influence program strategy, mentor teams, and design production-grade APIs that balance architectural ambitions with pragmatic delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or related field.
• Experience managing and delivering large-scale enterprise IT projects.
• Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA).
• Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Own the Application Modernisation workstream end-to-end: domain decomposition strategy, service boundary definition, API design, solution architecture, and delivery governance.
• Lead the decomposition of a ~30-year-old Oracle monolith into business-modelled domain APIs.
• Define and sequence the domain teardown across multiple business units, managing dependencies with minimal disruption.
• Design production, web-facing APIs with versioning to avoid breaking existing consumers during migration.
• Collaborate with the Agentic AI workstream lead to integrate AI-assisted discovery with domain design decisions.
• Advise senior customer stakeholders on architecture direction, sequencing trade-offs, and change absorption per phase.
• Serve as the senior technical authority on legacy decomposition and API-first delivery.
• Mentor and uplift team capability in legacy modernisation patterns and governance processes.
