Job summary

Medibank Private Limited in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join the ahm Core & Enabling Applications team and drive quality across Core WHICS and NewHealth platforms. You’ll design and maintain automated testing frameworks and support CI/CD delivery.

You’ll mentor peers, champion shift-left testing, and apply AI-driven testing capabilities to improve automation coverage and customer outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software testing/automation experience.
• Hands-on with Playwright and Node.js automation frameworks.
• REST APIs and API testing tools such as Postman and SOAPUI.
• Solid knowledge of testing methodologies, levels, types and advanced techniques.
• Experience in Agile environments and with Jira/X-Ray and GitHub.
• Experience with GitHub Actions and Jenkins for CI/CD.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and mentoring abilities.
• Experience with cloud-native applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts.
• Develop test conditions and translate them into comprehensive test cases.
• Support and enhance CI/CD by embedding automation into delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with Test Lead and delivery teams to define test coverage and approaches.
• Execute system integration, UAT, regression and retesting activities.
• Identify, document and communicate testing risks and quality concerns.
• Champion test automation best practices and uplift automation capability.
• Drive shift-left testing and continuous improvement of quality metrics.
• Work with business and technical stakeholders to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Foster collaboration between engineering and QA, promoting knowledge-sharing.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and AI-driven testing capabilities.
